Next week, when Skate Season 4 begins, fingerflips will finally be added to the free-to-play skateboarding game. Publisher Electronic Arts and developer Full Circle gave players a look at the new, long-awaited trick in a new social media post.

For those who are unfamiliar with skate tricks, a fingerflip is exactly what it sounds like. It is a trick in which a skater gets air and flips the board with their hand rather than their feet. The post below, which was posted across all of the Skate social media accounts, shows the trick in action. In this case, it’s a variation in which the skater does a nosegrab, then flips the board with their hand in a kickflip-like motion.

“We’re excited to announce that fingerflips are coming to skate. in Season 4, featuring new and improved mechanics that allow for a ton of new variations,” reads the video’s description.

When Skate launched in early access last September, there were several tricks that were missing from the previous games. Full Circle has been adding those tricks as part of its seasonal updates. In Season 3, darkslides and dark flips were added to the free-to-play game. Fingerflips will be added when Season 4 begins on June 2.

Personally, I’m excited to see what Full Circle has in store for Skate Season 4. Although it has taken some time, I feel like the developer is listening to the community and implementing the improvements, fixes, and features players are expecting. There are still pain points, but I enjoy seeing how the game improves over time. With all things considered, I’m still having a fun time with Skate. Check out my review to see some of my recent thoughts on the game.
